Full plot (contains spoilers)
In 1968, advertising executive Kelly Jones is tasked by a government operative to improve NASA's image. She moves to Florida and meets Cole Davis, a serious launch director. While they clash over her marketing tactics, she is secretly ordered to prepare a fake moon landing (Project Artemis) in case the real one fails. As they fall in love, Kelly becomes uneasy with the deception. When a funding crisis occurs, they work together to secure support. As the Apollo 11 launch nears, Kelly discovers the fake broadcast is set to air regardless of the mission's outcome due to a sabotaged camera. She confesses the truth to Cole, and they repair the camera just in time. During the live broadcast, a stray cat on set confirms the feed is from the moon, and the mission is a success. Kelly reveals her real name, Winnie, to Cole as they reconcile their romance.
