The story
Josette is an underage girl, raised in a very modern way and sure of what she wants. She decides to marry her guardian, André Ternay, in a sham marriage. Her plan is that, if it is dissolved one day, she can then marry the young man she truly loves, despite still being underage and against her father’s wishes.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Josette is an underage girl who has been brought up in a very modern way and knows exactly what she wants. So one day she decides to marry her guardian, André Ternay. She does this only because, thanks to this sham marriage, if it is dissolved one day, she will then be able to marry the young man she truly loves despite still being underage and against her father’s wishes. But things do not go as planned. As the sham marriage goes on, the two spouses grow closer and closer, and Josette falls seriously in love with her husband. When the time comes for the divorce they had planned, neither of them wants to let the other go—especially since Josette’s true beloved has meanwhile found another woman.
