The story
After being trapped in Hell and weakened by the residents of Springwood, Freddy Krueger seeks to regain his power. He finds and resurrects Jason Voorhees, intending for the silent killer to create enough fear to restore Freddy's strength. However, the plan backfires as Jason becomes uncontrollable. Meanwhile, a group of teenagers in Springwood find themselves caught in the crossfire of these two legendary killers. As the teens attempt to navigate the chaos and survive the night, they realize that both supernatural entities are active in the real world, leading to a desperate struggle for survival against two different types of monsters.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Trapped in Hell, Freddy Krueger's power is diminished because the people of Springwood use the drug Hypnocil to suppress their dreams. To regain his strength, Freddy resurrects Jason Voorhees by taking the form of Jason's mother, intending for Jason to cause a massacre on Elm Street. The plan goes awry when Jason's mindless violence begins to deprive Freddy of his victims. A group of teenagers, including Lori, Kia, Gibb, and others, are caught in the middle. They are joined by two escaped patients from Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital, Will and Mark. The group eventually realizes that both killers are active. They devise a plan to lure Freddy into the real world and force him to fight Jason at Camp Crystal Lake. In the dream world, Freddy torments Jason, while in the real world, the teens attempt to manage the situation. The climax occurs at the lake where both killers battle. After a series of brutal exchanges, the teens trigger an explosion that sends both into the water. The film ends with an ambiguous moment as Jason emerges from the lake holding Freddy's severed head, while Freddy's head winks and laughs.
