A teenager discovers his new neighbor is a vampire and must team up with a magician to stop him.

The story

Charley Brewster, a boy living in a suburb of Las Vegas, Nevada, discovers that a new neighbor, Jerry, has moved in next door. After his old best friend, Edward "Evil Ed" Lee, warns him that students have gone missing and claims Jerry is a vampire, Charley initially dismisses the warnings. However, after Ed is confronted and transformed by Jerry, Charley begins to investigate. He discovers disturbing video recordings and realizes Jerry is attacking people throughout the neighborhood. Seeking help, Charley turns to a local magician who is supposed to be an expert on vampires to help him deal with the growing threat.

Charley Brewster lives in a Las Vegas suburb and learns from his friend Ed that a new neighbor, Jerry, is a vampire. After Ed is bitten and transformed by Jerry, Charley investigates and finds Jerry keeping victims in secret rooms. Charley seeks help from Peter Vincent, a magician and vampire expert. Jerry sets fire to Charley's house, forcing Charley, his mother Jane, and his girlfriend Amy to flee. Jane wounds Jerry with a stake but is hospitalized. Peter eventually agrees to help Charley after recognizing a sigil. They discover Jerry belongs to a cannibalistic species. Ed, now a vampire, joins Jerry to attack them. During the fight, Charley reluctantly kills Ed. Amy shoots Jerry with silver bullets and holy water before being abducted by him. Peter reveals his parents were killed by Jerry and gives Charley a blessed stake. They enter Jerry's basement where they are attacked by victims. Charley stabs Amy to escape. Peter is fed upon by vampires. Charley shoots holes in the roof, letting in sunlight to kill the vampires. Charley, wearing a flame-retardant suit, tackles Jerry while Amy feeds on him. Peter shoots more holes in the floor to let in more sunlight, burning Jerry. Charley stabs Jerry in the heart, returning the victims to human form.
