The story
James Reese, an affable aide to the U.S. ambassador in France, is actually a CIA operative seeking more field work. When he is assigned to deliver a top-secret chip, he is partnered with NOC field agent Charlie Wax. The pair must navigate the complexities of international diplomacy and clandestine operations while investigating a Triad drug ring and a potential terrorist threat. Their investigation leads them through the streets of Paris, where they must uncover the truth behind a series of suspicious activities and protect the U.S. embassy from an impending attack.

James Reese, a CIA operative posing as an aide to the U.S. ambassador in France, is assigned to deliver a top-secret chip. He is joined by field agent Charlie Wax, who is investigating a Triad drug ring linked to the death of the Secretary of Defense's niece. Their investigation leads them to a terrorist hideout where they discover a plot to attack the U.S. embassy. During a meeting at Reese's apartment, Wax discovers that Reese's fiancée, Caroline, is actually a sleeper agent. After a confrontation where Caroline shoots Reese and flees, the pair works to stop her from detonating an explosive vest at a summit. Wax successfully stops a suicide attack, and Reese is forced to kill Caroline to prevent her from detonating her vest. The film ends with Reese and Wax forming a formal partnership as they prepare for their next mission.
