Full plot (contains spoilers)

Two murders occur in quick succession in the city: pregnant women are forcibly cut open and their babies taken. The women’s husbands, who are police officers, are murdered alongside them. The killer’s methods are exceptionally brutal, and panic spreads through the city. Everyone fears falling victim to this “Abdominal Surgeon.” During the police investigation, it emerges that the two women’s husbands belonged to the same plainclothes detective unit, making the case all the more puzzling. Before long, the suspect, Chen Jie, is arrested—but a third murder occurs after his arrest. This chain of events reveals the terrifying reason behind the crimes. Several months earlier, Du Ge, an off-duty Hong Kong police officer who abused his authority, tried to get sex with a prostitute for free but mistakenly raped Zhang Ying, a woman who had an intellectual disability from birth and had no family or friends. Later, Chen Jie accompanied Zhang Ying to the police station to report the rape, where they unfortunately encountered Du Ge, the officer who had raped her. Du Ge and several other officers abused their authority, brutally beat Chen Jie, and gang-raped Zhang Ying in front of him. They then framed Chen Jie for assaulting a police officer and had him sent to prison. After Chen Jie was released, he discovered that Zhang Ying had become pregnant as a result of the rape and was utterly devastated. Chen Jie decided to avenge Zhang Ying by killing, one by one, all the officers involved in her gang rape and their family members. This led to the series of murders in which pregnant women were cut open, described above. Before Chen Jie could kill Du Ge, he was arrested in connection with the abdominal murders. While Chen Jie was in custody, Zhang Ying, hoping to clear him of suspicion, cut open her own abdomen to take out the baby and died by suicide. This was the third murder mentioned above. After Chen Jie was released, he went after the other officers who had gang-raped Zhang Ying to take revenge. Several years later, he sought revenge on the last surviving officer, Du Ge, the police sergeant who had led the gang rape of Zhang Ying. After accomplishing his revenge, Chen Jie was killed by the officer’s accomplices.
