The story
During the summer holidays, five friends set off on a cycling trip to the mysterious Katzenmoor, where legend says the “Black Cat” hid the world’s largest emerald, the “Green Eye,” in 1587. No one has found it. The friends meet Hardy, a wealthy, spoiled boy their age. When Dick is mistaken for Hardy during a quad-bike test ride, he is kidnapped by crooks Fil and Max and their leader, Rookey. The kidnappers already possess the original treasure map, and Hardy appears to be the final piece of their puzzle. With Hardy’s help, the five friends set out in pursuit.

During the summer holidays, the five friends set off on a cycling trip to the mysterious Katzenmoor. According to legend, in 1587 the “Black Cat,” a historical figure, rescued the world’s largest emerald, the “Green Eye,” from thieves and hid it there. To this day, no one has found it. They meet Hardy, who is their age, wealthy, and spoiled. During a test ride on his quad bike, Dick is mistaken for Hardy and kidnapped. For the crooks Fil and Max and their leader, Rookey, Hardy is the final piece of the puzzle in their search for the “Green Eye.” The kidnappers already have the original treasure map. With Hardy’s help, the five friends set off in pursuit, encountering a traveling circus, the medieval castle “Owl’s Nest,” and an extensive cave system beneath the Gaffenstein cliffs.
