A prequel and origin story for Furiosa follows her journey through a wasteland before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road.
The story
Set years before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road, the film follows the life of Furiosa over more than a decade. After being kidnapped by the forces of the warlord Dementus, she is forced to navigate a harsh, wasteland environment. The story begins in a green paradise before transitioning into the traditional dieselpunk world of the Mad Max franchise. Furiosa must survive the whims of Dementus and find her way through a landscape of warring factions, eventually rising through the ranks of the Citadel's forces while attempting to find her way home.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Decades after the apocalypse, Furiosa and her friend Valkyrie are captured by raiders and taken to Dementus, the leader of the Biker Horde. After her mother, Mary Jabassa, is killed during a rescue attempt, Dementus adopts Furiosa. She marks her arm with a star chart to find her way home. Later, she is traded to the Citadel as part of a deal for Gastown. She is imprisoned by Immortan Joe but escapes and disguises herself as a War Boy, rising in rank for over a decade. She eventually teams up with Praetorian Jack, and they become allies. During a mission to the Bullet Farm, they are ambushed by Dementus; Jack is killed, and Furiosa is forced to sever her own arm to escape. She eventually defeats Dementus, imprisons him, and is promoted to 'Imperator' by Immortan Joe. The film concludes with her showing a peach tree grown from her mother's pit to the 'Five Wives'.
