Full plot (contains spoilers)

Hamburg landscape architect Ulrike Bongart has to travel to the area near Barcelona after a death in the family. She is supposed to take over the family vineyard there. Before long, she meets the charming Catalan businessman Pablo Braso. But she has to return to Germany, where her thirteen-year-old daughter Saskia and her boyfriend Arno are waiting for her. Pablo follows her to Hamburg, however, and courts her so ardently that she cannot resist his charm and spends the night with him. Arno finds out, and they end their relationship, which also causes Ulrike to lose her job. So she decides to go to Spain with her daughter, claim her inheritance, and build a new life. Saskia is not enthusiastic at first, but that soon changes when Pablo shows her his horses. She cannot get enough of riding through the Spanish countryside, and after she meets Juan as well, she wants to stay in Spain. Things are not going so well for Ulrike in business, however. Wine sales are sluggish, and some of the vines also seem to be diseased. The first problems arise in her private life, too: Pablo’s ex-girlfriend turns up and makes strange insinuations. Ulrike fears that Pablo is deceiving her and may only be interested in the vineyard she inherited. Arno unexpectedly arrives to see Ulrike and brings her evidence that Pablo’s family is planning a major project for which they absolutely need Ulrike’s land. She is determined to leave immediately and return to Germany with Arno. She has no idea that Pablo has just broken with his father and his plans. In high spirits, he sets off to see Ulrike with white roses, but she is already on her way to the airport. On the way there, he has a car accident, so Ulrike ultimately lets Arno and the plane go and stays in Spain. She and Pablo plan a new future together, and even get married.
