A motorcycle stuntman must grapple with his supernatural transformation after a desperate deal with a demon lord.

The story

Johnny Blaze is a famous motorcycle stuntman who finds himself in a desperate situation when he makes a deal with the demon Mephistopheles to save his father's life. The bargain leaves him bound to a supernatural entity, transforming him into the Ghost Rider, a hunter of evil spirits. In the present, while trying to manage his new identity and his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Roxanne, Blaze must confront the fact that his transformation is not a choice but a burden. When the demon's son, Blackheart, arrives on Earth seeking a powerful contract, Johnny must navigate his burgeoning powers and the looming threat of the underworld.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In 1986, Johnny Blaze sells his soul to Mephistopheles to cure his father's cancer; the father dies in a stunt accident, and Johnny becomes the Ghost Rider. In the present, Johnny is a stuntman who discovers that Mephistopheles' son, Blackheart, is searching for the Contract of San Venganza to unleash hell on Earth. After being forced into the role of the Ghost Rider to defeat Blackheart, Johnny learns of the contract's location from the Caretaker (Carter Slade). He eventually confronts Blackheart and his allies, the fallen angels. After a battle where Roxanne helps him, Johnny uses the Penance Stare to neutralize Blackheart. When Mephistopheles offers to release him from the curse, Johnny refuses, choosing to use his powers to protect the innocent and fight the demons himself.
