Full plot (contains spoilers)
After moving to an Oklahoma farm inherited from her father Egon Spengler, a woman and her children, Trevor and Phoebe, find themselves in a haunted environment. Phoebe discovers a ghost trap and, after a mishap with a friend, accidentally releases Vinz Clortho, who flees to a nearby mine. Guided by the ghost of her grandfather, Phoebe learns to use the old Ghostbusters equipment. When the local area is threatened by the return of the villainous Gozer, the children must team up with the original Ghostbusters—Ray Stantz, Peter Venkman, and Winston Zeddemore—to stop the supernatural threat. The film culminates in a battle at the mine where the new generation and the old team combine their efforts to trap the villains. The story concludes with Egon's spirit finding peace and the original team reuniting in New York City.
