Gli occhi dentro (1994)

Giovanna Dei is a talented young comic-book artist. Her success comes from creating a character called Doctor Dark. The character is inspired by the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; Doctor Dark is a psychopathic killer with a split personality, a renowned professor of pagan religions by day and a murderous maniac by night. Soon, however, some events disturb Giovanna’s peaceful life. A madman at large is killing babysitters in the same way Doctor Dark kills his victims. The killer gouges out the women’s eyes, using an ancient Egyptian technique. After these events, the comic is harshly criticized, and Giovanna defends her work at a comics convention and decides to keep writing. She also decides to leave the city and work elsewhere. When she returns to her studio, she discovers that the killer has come to visit her and left the eyes of one of his victims in a vase. Clearly, the murderer is trying to make her suffer for his crimes, and she begins finding the victims’ eyes in her home. Giovanna then tries to discover the psychopath’s true identity.
