However, her plan is complicated when she realizes she is caught up in a police sting. After a series of mishaps involving fake pills and a chaotic rave, Ronna finds herself in a dire financial situation. The narrative then weaves through the perspectives of a group of friends on a wild trip to Las Vegas and a pair of actors working undercover for a detective.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Around Christmas, Ronna works overtime at a supermarket to avoid eviction. She is approached by Adam and Zack, who want to buy ecstasy. Ronna visits Todd, a dealer, and leaves her friend Claire as collateral. Suspecting a sting, Ronna flushes the drugs and replaces them with over-the-counter pills. She then sells the fake pills at a rave, where Todd pursues her. Ronna flees, leaving an incapacitated Manny in an alley, and is eventually hit by a car, leaving her unconscious in a ditch. Simultaneously, Simon and Marcus crash a wedding in Las Vegas, steal a Ferrari, and end up in a violent confrontation with a bouncer, Victor Jr., after Simon shoots him. They are pursued by Victor Sr., who traces Todd's address from a borrowed credit card. Meanwhile, Adam and Zack, working for Detective Burke to entrap a dealer, buy drugs from Ronna. Zack warns her, and she flushes the drugs. Later, at a Christmas dinner with Burke and his wife Irene, the actors discover they both cheated with the same man, Jimmy. They confront him at the rave, where they accidentally run over Ronna. They return to her body, only to find she is alive. Finally, Claire meets Todd at his apartment, where they are confronted by the Victors. Simon arrives and agrees to be shot by Victor Jr. to stop the violence. Ronna wakes up in a hospital and eventually reunites with Claire and Manny.
