Full plot (contains spoilers)

Three years after defeating Mechagodzilla, Kong lives in Hollow Earth while Godzilla patrols the surface. A mysterious signal from Hollow Earth causes Jia, a girl from the Iwi tribe, to have visions, and leads Godzilla to seek radiation in France. Kong finds a hidden tribe of his kind and a young ape named Suko. Monarch's team travels to Hollow Earth to investigate the signal, discovering a temple where the Iwi live. They find records of the Skar King, a tyrannical ape who was once defeated by Godzilla but has now returned. Kong confronts the Skar King and his frost-breathing beast, Shimo, who injures Kong's arm. Meanwhile, Godzilla absorbs cosmic radiation, turning his scales magenta. After a series of battles and the intervention of the reborn Mothra, the two titans unite to fight the Skar King's forces. The battle moves to Rio de Janeiro, where Shimo creates an ice age. With Suko's help, the control crystal is destroyed, Shimo turns on the Skar King, and Kong defeats him. Godzilla returns to the surface, and Kong becomes the leader of his tribe in Hollow Earth.
