The story

An audience watches a lavish Broadway revue featuring the "Song of the Gold Diggers" in an art deco gold mine with women in Ziegfeld-style costumes. Guitarist Nick Lucas next sings "Painting the Clouds with Sunshine". The chorus girls of the revue are "man hungry", except for Violet Dayne and her roommate, Jerry Lamar, who has a boyfriend, Barney Barnett.
