Full plot (contains spoilers)
After a car crash with his teacher, Mr. Wheat, Dexter Reed takes a job at Good Burger to pay for the damages. He meets Ed, a dimwitted cashier, and eventually forgives Ed for causing the crash. When a rival restaurant, Mondo Burger, opens and begins hurting Good Burger's business, Dexter discovers Ed made a tasty sauce that could save their restaurant. Dexter exploits Ed's gullibility to extort money for the sauce recipe. However, after feeling remorseful, Dexter learns that Mondo Burger's owner, Kurt Bozwell, is using an illegal chemical called Triampathol and plans to shut Good Burger down. Kurt kidnaps several employees and tries to poison Ed's sauce with shark poison. Dexter and Ed escape from Demented Hills Asylum, commandeer an ice cream truck, and return to Good Burger to stop the poisoning. They eventually expose Kurt's crimes to the police, leading to the closure of Mondo Burger and Kurt's arrest. Dexter apologizes to Ed, tears up their contract, and they return to Good Burger as heroes.
