A threatened boatyard’s fortunes turn when the Italian Mafia disrupts a hoped-for payment.
The story
The Enforcement Authority returns to Andersson’s Boat Yard, where Janne Andersson insists that things are finally under control: the last boat engines destined for Italy have been delivered, and payment would leave the yard debt-free. Meanwhile, his daughter Petra takes tourists along the Göta Canal aboard an old steamboat, entertaining them with the legend of canal builder Baltzar von Platen’s secret. The family’s situation appears peaceful, but their hopes depend on the promised payment. That prospect is thrown into doubt when the Italian Mafia intervenes and the money fails to arrive, threatening the boatyard’s financial recovery.
