Laurie Strode must confront her deteriorating mental state and a terrifying connection to her past as Michael Myers returns to Haddonfield.

The story

One year after the events of the previous film, Laurie Strode lives with the Brackett family while struggling with trauma and hallucinations. Meanwhile, Dr. Loomis seeks to profit from the tragedy by writing a book, while Michael Myers remains at large as a drifter. As Laurie's psychological state worsens, Michael begins a new path of violence, heading toward Haddonfield. The tension escalates as Laurie discovers shocking truths about her lineage, leading to a final, violent confrontation between her and the masked killer.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Following a flashback of a young Michael Myers receiving a gift from his mother, the film opens with Laurie Strode in shock after shooting Michael. After a dream sequence where Michael murders several people in a hospital, the story jumps forward one year. Laurie lives with the Bracketts, while Dr. Loomis promotes a book about the murders. Michael, living as a drifter, is guided by visions of his mother to find Laurie. He kills a farm family and heads to Haddonfield. Laurie, experiencing hallucinations, discovers she is Michael's long-lost sister, Angel. She attends a party where Michael kills her co-worker, then heads to the Brackett home, killing Annie. Michael then kidnaps Laurie and takes her to an abandoned shack. There, Loomis arrives to reason with Michael but is stabbed to death. Laurie, seeing visions of her mother, stabs Michael with his own knife. The film ends with Laurie in a psychiatric ward, grinning as her mother's ghost approaches her with a white horse.
