Hannah Mangold & Lucy Palm (2011)

Former precinct chief Hannah Mangold, from Potsdam, returns to her old department after spending nine months in a psychiatric hospital. Since she has not yet overcome her fears, she hopes that work will distract her. She is deeply affected by having seen her daughter Laura’s friend shot dead by an escaped prisoner. In the meantime, her colleague Ulf Habermann has taken over as head of the precinct. Her first case immediately becomes another emotional challenge: together with her new young colleague, Lucy Palm, she is supposed to hunt down a serial rapist who even killed his last victim. The alleged suicide of a friend from the psychiatric hospital leads Hannah to psychiatrist Reiner Gerber, who persuades female patients to stop taking their medication. Is this man the perpetrator? Hannah decides to investigate undercover and becomes Gerber’s patient. But she has underestimated her adversary, who will stop at nothing, uses her daughter Laura in a murderous game, and sets a deadly trap for them both. In the showdown, everything is at stake: Lucy must save her colleague Hannah and Laura, and confront Reiner Gerber.
