Full plot (contains spoilers)
The new school year for Hanni and Nanni at Lindenhof boarding school is full of surprises: their cousin Elisabeth (usually called Lilly) is now attending the school too, and one of the three new students is said to be a princess. Mademoiselle Bertoux, meanwhile, is looking forward to a visit from her nephew Philippe. As expected, the handsome Frenchman causes quite a stir at the girls’ boarding school. Then things get truly adventurous: the princess is supposed to be kidnapped. Even so, the princess’s identity remains unknown for a long time. After thrilling fencing matches, enormous chaos at the castle, and the twins’ parents separating, the mystery is revealed—but by then the kidnappers are already on the trail of the protagonists and the princess. Before they can do anything, Wilma, alias Frau Goethe, who until then had been posing as a German teacher, and her accomplice Roland have already set their sights on Nanni. Finally, an exciting climax brings Georg and Jule Sullivan, Hanni and Nanni’s parents, closer together again.
