The story
Following a mysterious and deadly 'malfunction' at the 'Hell House' haunted attraction in 2009, an investigative documentary team explores the tragedy. The team tracks down the sole surviving staff member, Sara Havel, who provides them with behind-the-scenes footage of the operation. The footage reveals the preparation of the attraction at the dilapidated Hotel Abaddon. As the team investigates the history of the location and the events leading up to the opening night, they begin to uncover evidence of supernatural activity and the dark secrets hidden within the building's walls.

In 2009, a 'malfunction' at the Hell House attraction in Abaddon, New York, resulted in 15 deaths. A documentary team, including Diane Graves, Jonathan Miller, and Mitchell Cavanaugh, investigates the site and interviews survivor Sara Havel. Sara's footage shows the team setting up the attraction at the haunted Hotel Abaddon, which was built by a cultist named Andrew Tully. The footage captures supernatural events, including moving mannequins and possessions, which the staff ignored to meet the opening deadline. On opening night, a ghost cultist kills a performer, causing a panic where several others are killed. In the present, the documentary team follows Sara's lead into the hotel. They find a room labeled '2C' where they are attacked by a ghoulish Sara and shadow cultists. Mitchell, left behind, discovers footage of a possessed Paul killing Sara before committing suicide.
