Full plot (contains spoilers)
Valentin Haase is a happy advertising graphic designer at the Bensberg chocolate factory. He neither smokes nor drinks, is modest, and is a thoroughly respectable bachelor. For this reason, his boss, Director Bensberg, assigns him to pick up the daughter of company chief Schöner at the airport and show her around Vienna. Valentin cannot find the heiress and millionaire’s daughter at the airport, but instantly falls in love with another young woman who has been unjustly accused of theft, not realizing that she is the very person he has been sent to meet. The pretty young lady introduces herself as Babs and claims to be looking for a job. Valentin repeatedly finds valuable and expensive luxury items in her possession, leading him to think that his fiancée must be kleptomaniac. His friend Gustav Notnagel, a hotel detective, only adds to the confusion of identities. After Director General Schöner arrives in Vienna, and after Valentin and Gustav even spend a short time in jail, everything is cleared up. Valentin and Babs get married.
