Full plot (contains spoilers)

A boy (Coste) from the rural Costa Rican region of Pérez Zeledón discovers his passion for soccer and a path toward a better life. As he strives to achieve his athletic and professional goals and help support his family financially, he faces the challenge of living alone in San José, an unfamiliar city, along with other trials that test his character. Nevertheless, these difficulties help him discover the extent of his willpower, which drives him to fulfill his dreams. Broadly speaking, the feature film traces the sporting career of soccer player Keylor Navas (Márquez): his signing with Deportivo Saprissa—one of the country’s major teams—his call-up to the Costa Rica national team, his participation in international tournaments, and his meteoric career in Spain, culminating in his playing for Real Madrid, one of the most important clubs in the world.
