The story

After a 'friendly' invasion by the Boov, a teenage girl named Tip and her pet cat, Pig, are left behind on Earth while the rest of humanity is relocated to the Australian Outback. Tip is desperate to find her mother, Lucy. Meanwhile, Oh, an accident-prone and free-thinking Boov who is shunned by his own kind, finds himself in a predicament after accidentally sending a mass invitation to a rival alien race. When the two unlikely companions cross paths, they must navigate a world where the Boov have taken over human homes, and Oh and Tip must work together to navigate the dangers of the invasion and find their way back to what they are looking for.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

A cowardly alien race called the Boov, led by Captain Smek, invades Earth and relocates humans to the Australian Outback. Oh, a misfit Boov, accidentally invites the hostile Gorg to a housewarming party, making him a fugitive. He encounters 12-year-old Tip, who is searching for her mother, Lucy, after the invasion. The two form an uneasy alliance, traveling to Paris to reach the Boov Command Center. Oh manages to cancel the invitation before it reaches the Gorg, and they discover Lucy is in a human camp in Australia. After escaping Smek's attempts to capture them, they travel to Australia. Oh eventually joins the Boov and, after proving his bravery and leadership, becomes their new captain. He ultimately helps Tip reunite with her mother. The film ends with the Boov moving to the Moon and the humans returning to their homes, with Oh and Tip remaining friends.
