The story

Peter Banning, a workaholic lawyer, has a strained relationship with his wife, Moira, and their children, Jack and Maggie, due to his constant absences and broken promises. During Christmas, the family travels to London to visit Moira's grandmother, Wendy Darling, who cared for Peter as an orphan. During a dinner honoring Wendy's work with orphans, Jack and Maggie stay home with her old friend, Tootles. Returning from the event, Peter and Moira discover the children are missing, with a note left behind in their nursery signed by Captain James Hook. Wendy divulges to Peter his true childhood identity, Peter Pan, and urges him to return to Neverland to rescue his children because only he can.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Peter Banning, a workaholic lawyer, has a strained relationship with his wife, Moira, and their children, Jack and Maggie. During a trip to London, the children are kidnapped by Captain James Hook. Wendy Darling reveals Peter's true identity as Peter Pan and urges him to return to Neverland. Accompanied by Tinker Bell, Peter travels to Neverland where he is initially unable to fly or fight. Under the guidance of the Lost Boys, he begins to reclaim his memories and abilities. Meanwhile, Jack begins to side with Hook due to his father's perceived failures. Peter eventually remembers his past as an infant in the early 1900s and regains his power to fly. During a final battle, Rufio is fatally wounded, leading Jack to reconcile with his father. Peter defeats Hook, who is ultimately consumed by a taxidermied crocodile that comes to life. Peter returns to London, reunited with his family, and chooses to embrace the adventure of life.
