Hubert und Staller - Die ins Gras beißen (2013)

Because their patrol car has run out of gas, Hubert and Staller take the bus, which has to stop because a cow is standing in the road. While Hubert drives the animal away with a warning shot, the bus driver spots a fire in the forest. Hubert and Staller head into the woods and put out the fire, but the cause of the blaze turns out to be a corpse. Suspicion quickly falls on the one-armed farmer Weidinger, who had been hiding among the trees. Police Superintendent Girwidz would rather not know anything about the whole affair, since he is expecting his former superior, Police Director Schmitz. Hoping Schmitz will appoint him as his successor, Girwidz tries to make the precinct look good and puts Sonja Wirth and Martin Riedl in charge of that. Hubert and Staller are also supposed to make a good impression, though the uncooperative Weidinger, who refuses to confess, is of little help. Meanwhile, pathologist Anja Licht determines that the corpse is a young woman who was strangled, and gets another body to deal with after a man lands on vehicle 3, having jumped—or perhaps been pushed—from a bridge. The twists and turns of the complex investigation eventually lead Hubert and Staller to a farm where a shared home for retirees is located...
