Full plot (contains spoilers)
Jan, Nina, and their two children are a young, modern, wealthy European model family. Jan and Nina work in political consulting through their own agency, but when Nina objects to the populist strategy of the party they are advising on its campaign, Jan cannot understand his wife’s position. To save their marriage, Jan suggests spending a family weekend at their holiday home on the Belgian coast. Shortly after they arrive, while Jan is out shopping, they notice people in the house, who immediately flee. Once the incident has a happy ending, the excitement quickly dies down and even seems to bring the couple closer again. Soon, however, it becomes clear that each family member experienced the events differently. Their eight-year-old son Max, for instance, claims that his father hid during the incident. Nina’s statement to the police raises doubts about whether the break-in happened at all. The harmony the family had just managed to find is put to a severe test, and tensions and mutual mistrust arise. From the rat Zorro’s point of view, we do in fact see masked boys breaking in, then fleeing to a party.
