Full plot (contains spoilers)
The film is about 27-year-old Alex, who has failed at most things and starts working with people with disabilities for the Municipality of Hudiksvall. When he discovers that they sing well, he decides to show the rest of his friends that they are just as worthy as anyone else. The story is based on director Pär Johansson’s personal experiences working with people with disabilities and wanting to develop their abilities instead of forcing them to learn things they found difficult. He then founded the Glada Hudik Theatre, and a large part of its ensemble appears in the film. But it is not a documentary; the film is only based on certain events and situations from Pär Johansson’s life. He also makes a cameo at the beginning of the film, playing a director who fires Alex as an actor.
