The story

Music superstar Abel Tesfaye, grappling with depression and insomnia following a recent breakup, prepares for a headlining concert. While his manager, Lee, encourages him to perform despite his physical and emotional exhaustion, a mysterious fan named Anima becomes obsessed with his music. After Abel loses his voice during a performance and retreats backstage, he encounters Anima. The two spend a night together, where the boundaries between their lives begin to blur as Anima's intense devotion creates a volatile situation for the weary artist.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

After a concert where Abel loses his voice and retreats backstage, he meets Anima, a stalker fan. They spend the night together at a hotel where Anima shares her feelings of loneliness. The next day, Anima becomes desperate for Abel's emotional honesty and knocks him unconscious. He experiences a surreal nightmare involving his past and a snowy field. When he wakes up, he is tied to the bed by Anima, who forces him to confront his issues. When his manager, Lee, arrives, Anima kills him in a violent struggle. She then threatens to burn Abel with gasoline unless he is honest. He finally sings 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' for her. She releases him and sets the room on fire before fleeing. Abel escapes the burning room and finds himself backstage before another concert, staring at his reflection in a mirror.
