The story

In 1940, while on a vacation cruise, a drunken "Doc" Ryan falls overboard, and when Larry Wilson throws him a lifebuoy, the rope becomes tangled around his ankle, causing Larry to fall into the sea. As a group of sailors rescue the two men, Larry is accidentally hit on the head with an oar. He awakens in his cabin with Doc by his side and remembers that he is actually George Carey, a suave con man.
