The story
At the luxurious home of renowned contemporary artist Erika Tracy, her 23-year-old lover Elliot finds her floating naked and unconscious in the pool. Nine-and-a-half weeks earlier, a struggling, unemployed Elliot was hired as an assistant in Erika's studio. He befriends fellow assistant Zap while helping produce Erika's avant-garde, sexually explicit artwork. While Elliot's girlfriend Minerva is uninterested in sex, he begins to fantasize about Erika. After Erika initiates a sexual relationship with him, their BDSM dynamic deepens. As Erika prepares for a major art show, the complexities of their relationship and the influence of her business manager, Vikktor, begin to create tension.

After Erika initiates a sexual relationship with Elliot, their BDSM dynamic deepens. Erika sends Elliot to her friend Yvette, who rejects him. Overwhelmed, Elliot breaks up with Minerva. As Erika prepares for a major art show, she demands Elliot bring a partner; he brings his friend Apple. During a planned threesome, Erika handcuffs Elliot while seducing Apple. Later, after a fallout with Apple, Elliot moves in with Zap. At Erika's exhibition, she tries to rekindle their romance, but Elliot confronts her after seeing their sex tapes on display. He is ejected, and the show fails. Later, a distraught Erika drugs Elliot, who finds her unconscious in her pool. He calls 911, but her body vanishes. Police release him due to lack of evidence. Erika later reveals she and Vikktor orchestrated the 'death' to save her studio financially. Two years later, Elliot interviews Erika about the hoax. Two years after that, they marry, only for the reality to dissolve into a shared nightmare.
