Full plot (contains spoilers)
The petty criminal Erhard is sent to a remote village for a job. But an unexpected accident involving a pensioner occurs. In the end, the pensioner has to take his place as a corpse beside a deer carcass in the trunk of Erhard’s broken-down car. The petty crook hides the wrecked car and makes a run for it. In the village where he seeks shelter, the eccentric and odd residents seem to have been waiting just for him. But Erhard cannot run from his guilt for long, because a girl named Emma witnessed his accident and follows him. She wants to persuade Erhard to help her search for her missing father. Although the crook would rather do anything than stay in the ice-bound backwater, where the police are already on his trail, escaping proves difficult.
