The story
After surviving a near-fatal accident, young novice Sister Cecilia is convinced God saved her for a purpose. She accepts an invitation from Father Sal Tedeschi to join a convent in Italy that cares for dying nuns. Upon arriving at the picturesque location, Cecilia begins to notice unsettling oddities, including strange physical marks on the elder nuns and a mysterious relic in the chapel. As she settles into her new life, she begins to experience haunting nightmares of hooded figures and discovers she is pregnant despite her status as a virgin, leading her to question the true nature of the convent's mission.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Sister Cecilia, a novice who survived a near-death experience, joins a convent in Italy. She soon discovers the convent is hiding dark secrets. She notices physical abnormalities in other nuns and learns she is miraculously pregnant. When her request for medical attention is denied, she discovers the truth: Father Tedeschi, a former geneticist, used a 'Holy Nail' relic to impregnate nuns to create a messiah. After a series of violent events, including the death of Sister Isabelle and the mutilation of Sister Gwen, Cecilia attempts to escape. She eventually faces Tedeschi in the catacombs. After a violent struggle where she stabs him with the Holy Nail, she escapes and gives birth to a baby that makes animalistic noises, which she ultimately kills with a rock.
