Full plot (contains spoilers)

Simone Carstensen-Kleebach has a husband she has been married to for nearly 20 years, a daughter, and a seat on the supervisory board of a global corporation. But she can no longer cope with the pressure to be perfect in all these roles. While on vacation on Norderney, she meets Leon and begins an affair with him. Back in Hamburg, Leon unexpectedly turns up again, and they meet once more. To pay off his debts as a supposed art dealer, Simone gives him 1.5 million euros. A short time later, she receives compromising photos in the mail showing Leon and her making love. She shows the pictures to her husband, who thereby learns about the affair. The photos are to be used to extort 5 million euros; otherwise, they will be published. Leon is arrested during the handover of the money. It turns out that he is married, but he denies all the accusations against him. After further police investigation, Leon is convicted of aggravated extortion. Simone and her husband tentatively find their way back to each other.
