The story
Sisters Maggie and Rose Feller are very different; Rose is a serious lawyer while Maggie is a free spirit who struggles to maintain steady employment. After a falling out over a romantic betrayal, the sisters are separated. However, they both eventually discover the existence of their estranged grandmother, Ella. While Rose struggles with her personal life and a complicated relationship with her father, Maggie finds herself in a retirement community in Florida. The two women's paths begin to converge as they navigate their complicated family history and the truth about their mother's past.

Sisters Maggie and Rose Feller are very different; Rose is a serious lawyer and Maggie is a free spirit who struggles with dyslexia and a lack of steady employment. After Rose catches Maggie in bed with a man Rose was seeing, she kicks her out. Maggie travels to Florida to find their estranged grandmother, Ella, who takes her in. Meanwhile, Rose's relationship with her boyfriend Simon fails after she refuses to talk about Maggie. In Florida, Maggie begins working in a retirement community, where she befriends residents and finds a sense of purpose. Rose eventually travels to Florida to meet Ella, only to find Maggie already there. The sisters confront their father about the truth of their mother's death and mental illness. They eventually reconcile, and Rose and Simon reunite, leading to a wedding in Philadelphia where the family finds peace.
