An art thief becomes trapped in a luxury penthouse and begins to lose his grip on reality.

The story

Disguised as a handyman, an art thief named Nemo breaks into a high-rise penthouse in Manhattan to steal three works by Egon Schiele. However, his attempt to leave triggers a security system that seals the apartment, cutting him off from the outside world. As his contacts abandon him, Nemo is left alone in the luxury space. He must contend with a malfunctioning thermostat, a lack of food and water, and the psychological toll of isolation while attempting to find a way out of the high-rise.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Nemo, an art thief, breaks into a Manhattan penthouse to steal three Schiele paintings. When the security system seals the apartment, he is trapped alone. Over weeks or months, he suffers from extreme temperatures, hunger, and physical injuries from escape attempts. He becomes obsessed with a housekeeper he sees on a monitor, and eventually finds a hidden room containing a Schiele self-portrait. He begins to suffer from hallucinations and tooth decay while constructing a massive scaffold to reach a skylight. He eventually leaves a note for the owner, apologizing for the destruction but claiming it was necessary for creation. The film ends with a view of the open skylight and a flickering shadow.
