The story
After a young boy named Dalton falls and hits his head, he inexplicably slips into a coma. As his parents, Josh and Renai, struggle to understand his condition, they begin to experience frightening paranormal events in their home, including strange noises and a sense of being watched. When they move to a new house, the supernatural activity persists, and Renai begins seeing a fiendish apparition. Seeking help, they consult a psychic who reveals that Dalton's condition is linked to his ability to astral project, and he has been captured in a dangerous realm known as 'The Further.'
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After Dalton falls and enters a coma, his parents Josh and Renai experience terrifying paranormal events. They seek help from psychic Elise Rainier, who reveals that Dalton's consciousness has been trapped in 'The Further,' a realm of spirits. Elise explains that Josh also has the ability to astral project but suppressed the memory of a parasitic spirit from his childhood. To save Dalton, Josh must enter The Further. He successfully rescues his son but is confronted by the old woman spirit from his past. While they return to the real world, the spirits of The Further invade the physical world. Although the family initially celebrates their victory, it is revealed that the old woman spirit successfully possessed Josh's body during the confrontation. The film ends with Josh, now possessed, appearing behind Renai.
