The story
Miranda Green, a florist who loves mystery novels, receives a mysterious invitation from Lord Findley to visit his mansion on a reclusive island. During the journey, she meets five other strangers, including a journalist and a lawyer. Upon arrival, they find themselves stranded due to bad weather, hosted by three hostile staff members. The guests quickly become tense as they realize they don't know each other, have never heard of Lord Findley, or know the reason for their invitation. The situation escalates when Lawrence Kane is found dead, and his body disappears, forcing Miranda to solve the crime and identify the murderer among them.

Miranda Green, a mystery novel enthusiast, travels to a reclusive island after receiving an invitation from Lord Findley. She meets five other guests: Donald Walker, Lawrence Kane, Dr. Phillip Armstrong, Carmen Blanco, and Lu Wang. Stranded by bad weather and met by hostile staff, the group's tension peaks when Kane is found dead and his body vanishes. Miranda discovers that the 'butler' is actually Findley in disguise. She deduces that the guests are actually Findley's illegitimate children, invited to a test to see who would inherit his fortune. She realizes Kane's death was faked and identifies Walker as the one who actually killed Findley. Walker, the eldest, killed his father because his mother died while waiting for Findley to join them in America. According to the Will, Walker was the intended heir, but the weekend was a vetting process. After Walker is arrested, the fortune goes to Findley's company. The siblings reject the inheritance, wanting nothing to do with their father. Kane apologizes for the game's extent, and Miranda decides to become an official investigator as the siblings agree to stay in each other's lives.
