A journalist investigates the selfishness he sees in others—and in himself.

The story

Sandro, a well-known journalist and writer, sets out to investigate human selfishness. For several days, he observes people he spends time with as well as those he happens to encounter. But the inquiry is not limited to other people: recognizing himself as part of the subject he is studying, Sandro also looks back at his own present and past behavior. Through scenes drawn from everyday life, the film considers how selfishness shapes the lives of ordinary people and what follows from it.
