The story
Lily Bloom, a florist in Boston, finds herself entangled in a complicated emotional web when she begins a relationship with a neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid. While establishing her flower shop, she discovers that Ryle's behavior is complicated by his past and his sister's perspective. The situation becomes even more complicated when her ex-boyfriend, Atlas Corrigan, re-enters her life. Atlas, who shares a history with Lily and a different perspective on Ryle's actions, urges her to reconsider her current path. Lily must navigate the conflicting feelings and safety concerns presented by both men while trying to forge her own future.

Lily Bloom is preparing to give a eulogy for her father when she meets Ryle Kincaid, a neurosurgeon. They begin a relationship, but Lily soon learns that Ryle's sister, Allysa, has a complicated view of him due to his history of violence. Lily's past resurfaces when she meets her high school boyfriend, Atlas Corrigan, who is now a chef. Atlas warns her about Ryle's abusive behavior. After a physical altercation between Ryle and Atlas, Lily eventually marries Ryle, but the cycle of abuse continues until a violent incident leads her to seek refuge with Atlas. During this time, she discovers she is pregnant. Allysa eventually confronts Lily about Ryle's history of violence, specifically an incident where he injured their brother. Lily eventually chooses to leave Ryle, seeking a divorce to protect her unborn daughter, whom she names Emerson. The film ends with Lily finding peace and a new beginning, choosing to break the cycle of abuse in her family.
