A former child actor must survive a deadly lottery where anyone with a losing ticket can kill the winner to claim the prize.

The story

By 2030, the financially desperate government of California creates the deadly Grand Lottery: each Lottery Day, the randomly selected winner must survive until sundown; anyone with a losing ticket can kill the winner to claim the multi-million dollar prize instead, but no one may use guns. Former child actor Katie Kim arrives in Los Angeles with hopes of reentering show business, unaware of the Lottery and its record $3.6 billion jackpot. Renting an Airbnb room from money-hungry Shadi and her boyfriend DJ, Katie attends a disappointing audition, and inadvertently enters and wins the Lottery. Attacked on sight by everyone around her, Katie is soon found by Noel Cassidy, a freelance Lottery protection agent.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

By 2030, California's government creates the Grand Lottery where the winner must survive until sundown to keep a $3.6 billion prize; losers can kill the winner to take it. Katie Kim, a former child actor, wins the jackpot by accident in Los Angeles. She is hunted by a mob and eventually finds Noel Cassidy, a protection agent who agrees to help her for a 10% cut. Noel reveals a drone tracks her location every 14 minutes, and she must reach the Grapevine to quit. After escaping Shadi and DJ, they seek refuge in a mansion and later at the high-tech facility of the Lewis Protection Agency (LPA). Katie meets Louis Lewis, who agrees to protect her for a 30% cut. Noel suspects the LPA murders clients to keep winnings, so he lets the mob into the facility, allowing Katie to drive away alone while he is captured. Louis threatens to kill Noel unless Katie surrenders. Katie arrives and forces Louis to spare Noel by threatening suicide and forfeiting the jackpot on a livestream. The livestream summons the mob; Katie and Noel fight them off. Katie kills Louis with grenades but falls from scaffolding, saved by genuine fans. Six months later, Katie and Noel open a free protection agency and own a superyacht.
