A former award-winning actor takes a stopgap job reenacting crime scenes in an Alpine resort, where he butts heads with the judge overseeing the investigation.
The story
Jean Renault, an actor who once won a César Award for Most Promising Actor, has seen his career falter because of his temperament. The employment office offers him a temporary job in Megève, a quiet Alpine ski resort: he is to play dead during a crime-scene reenactment. Jean clashes with Judge Noémie Desfontaines, driven by his desire to play the victims and to challenge the investigation by pointing out inconsistencies. In this normally tranquil resort, skiing accidents and snowplows are among the few disruptions to everyday life.

Jean Renault (François Damiens) is an actor who once won a César Award for Most Promising Actor. But his temperament gradually wrecked his career, until the employment office offered him a stopgap job: playing dead for a crime-scene reenactment in Megève, a very quiet Alpine ski resort where the only things that usually bring a little excitement to everyday life are skiing accidents on the slopes or snowplows on the roads. There, Jean clashes with Judge Noémie Desfontaines (Géraldine Nakache), driven by his need to play the victims and, above all, to challenge the investigation by pointing out inconsistencies.
