The story
In the small town of Devil's Kettle, Minnesota, high school student Jennifer Check becomes a popular and beautiful figure, while her best friend, the studious Anita "Needy" Lesnicki, remains in her shadow. After a mysterious fire at a local bar, Jennifer's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and dangerous. As Needy tries to navigate their complex friendship, she begins to suspect that Jennifer is hiding a dark, supernatural secret. The two girls must navigate the social pressures of high school while Needy discovers the horrifying truth of what Jennifer has become and the desperate measures she must take to stop her friend's escalating violence.

Anita "Needy" Lesnicki is a studious girl in Devil's Kettle, Minnesota, whose best friend, Jennifer Check, is a popular girl. After a fire at a local bar, Jennifer becomes possessed by a demon after a failed ritual for fame. She begins a spree of killing and devouring male classmates. Needy discovers Jennifer is a succubus who must feed on flesh to maintain her appearance. Needy eventually learns that Jennifer can only be killed while she is weak and hungry. After a confrontation where Needy's boyfriend, Chip, is attacked by Jennifer, Needy confronts her. During a struggle, Jennifer bites Needy, and Needy eventually stabs Jennifer in the heart, destroying the demon but leading to her own imprisonment. Needy eventually escapes and tracks down the band responsible for the ritual, murdering them.
