A compulsive liar invites a comic-book author and his wife into a meeting that blurs the line between fiction and life.

The story

Bob Neuman, a young Swiss man and compulsive liar, invites Pierre Meyrand, a comic-book author whose work he admires, and Pierre’s wife, Jacqueline, to his home. During their meeting, Pierre uses Bob as inspiration for a new character, imagining a figure based entirely on his host. Bob, meanwhile, begins to follow the plot of Pierre’s comic book in his own life, turning the author’s fictional creation into a pattern for his actions.
