Full plot (contains spoilers)
Detectives Brad Halloran and Keith Hunt pursue Edgar Munsen, who claims he must start a "game" to survive; he is shot and collapses. Five people—Mitch, Anna, Ryan, Carly, and an unconscious man—awaken in a barn with buckets on their heads. They must sacrifice blood to survive before being pulled toward buzzsaws. Carly is killed by Ryan after refusing to choose between three needles. Ryan is later forced to sever his leg to save Anna and Mitch. Meanwhile, Halloran and Hunt investigate the deaths of the unconscious man and Carly. Halloran becomes suspicious of pathologists Logan and Eleanor. Eleanor reveals she is a Jigsaw fan. Later, Edgar is abducted. In the barn, Mitch is killed by a spinning blade. Halloran finds a corpse in Eleanor's studio and arrests her and Logan. Logan reveals he is the one who orchestrated the games as revenge for the death of his wife. He framed Halloran as the new Jigsaw Killer. In the final test, Anna is killed by a backfiring gun. Logan is revealed to be the 'unconscious man' from the first game, having been recruited by John Kramer years ago. He reveals he chose victims from those Halloran let go. For breaking rules, Halloran's collar is activated, and he is killed by a blade.
