A super-genius boy must rescue his parents from a race of egg-like aliens after his attempt to contact extraterrestrial life goes awry.

The story

Ten-year-old boy genius Jimmy Neutron lives in Retroville with his parents and his robot dog, Goddard. When Jimmy launches a communications satellite into space to contact alien life, it is intercepted by the Yolkians, a race of egg-like aliens. The Yolkians abduct all the adults in Retroville, leaving only the children behind. Initially enjoying their freedom, the children soon realize they need their parents and must act quickly. Jimmy enlists his friends to build rocket ships and travel into space to rescue the adults from the alien planet Yolkus.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

After Jimmy's satellite is intercepted by the Yolkians, the aliens abduct all the adults in Retroville. Jimmy, his friends Carl and Sheen, and their rival Cindy Vortex discover the abduction and travel to the planet Yolkus. They find the parents under mind control, intended as sacrifices for the alien god Poultra. After a battle in the Yolkians' Colosseum, the children successfully rescue the parents and escape. During the escape, Jimmy faces off against the leader, King Goobot, and uses his shrink ray to enlarge himself to the size of a planet to destroy Goobot's pursuing vessel. The film ends with Jimmy reconciling with his parents, acknowledging his dependence on them, while a shrunken Miss Fowl is seen traveling to her school.
