The story
In 1969, a young boy named Alan Parrish finds a mysterious board game called Jumanji and becomes trapped inside it for decades. In 1995, two siblings, Judy and Peter, move into the abandoned mansion where the game was found. Upon discovering the game in the attic, they begin to play, unknowingly unleashing a series of jungle-based hazards and dangers into their current reality. As the game's rules dictate that everything will be restored once it ends, the children must navigate the escalating chaos while trying to figure out how to stop the game and bring the situation under control.

In 1969, Alan Parrish finds the board game Jumanji and is sucked into it, while his friend Sarah Whittle is left behind. Twenty-six years later, siblings Judy and Peter Shepherd find the game in the attic of their new home. As they play, they summon various hazards and eventually release the adult Alan from the game's world. They are joined by Sarah, who has been haunted by the mystery of Alan's disappearance. The group must work together to stop a villainous hunter, Van Pelt, who has stolen the game. After a series of dangerous events, Alan wins the game, which resets the timeline. Alan and Sarah are reunited in 1969 and eventually marry, while Judy and Peter are safe in 1995. The film ends with a glimpse of the game in the present day, where two girls hear the drumbeats.
