The story
In a world where de-extinct dinosaurs are confined to equatorial regions, a specialized team is tasked with a high-stakes mission. They travel to a remote, abandoned research facility on the island of Île Saint-Hubert to extract vital DNA samples from three specific large prehistoric species. These samples are essential for developing a treatment for heart disease. During their operation, the team encounters a shipwrecked family and must decide whether to prioritize their mission or rescue the civilians. Both groups find themselves struggling to survive against the prehistoric predators and the harsh environment of the island.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
In 2027, the only viable habitat for de-extinct dinosaurs is the equatorial regions. A team led by Zora Bennett, a former covert operative, and Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist, travels to the island of Île Saint-Hubert to collect DNA from a Mosasaurus, a Titanosaurus, and a Quetzalcoatlus for a heart disease treatment. They encounter a shipwrecked family—Reuben Delgado and his daughters—who are also stranded. The team rescues the family but faces attacks from various prehistoric creatures, including a Spinosaurus and a mutated 'Distortus rex'. Amidst the chaos, the team secures the samples while the family seeks safety. The two groups eventually reunite at the abandoned InGen complex. A conflict arises when the pharmaceutical representative, Martin Krebs, attempts to seize the samples and flee. During a frantic escape through tunnels, the Distortus rex destroys the rescue helicopter. The survivors eventually escape on a boat, and Zora and Henry decide to release the gathered biomaterial as an open-source resource.
