A man serving on a jury for a high-profile murder trial realizes he may be responsible for the victim's death.

The story

In Savannah, Georgia, journalist and recovering alcoholic Justin Kemp is called for jury duty. He is seated in the case of the death of Kendall Carter, who was found dead under a bridge after a fight with her boyfriend, James Sythe, who is charged with her murder. While the prosecution builds a strong case against Sythe, Justin begins to realize that he might have been the one who actually caused Kendall's death during a hit-and-run incident he previously dismissed as hitting a deer. To protect himself and his family, Justin must navigate the complexities of the trial while grappling with his own guilt and the legal consequences of his actions.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In Savannah, Georgia, journalist and recovering alcoholic Justin Kemp is called for jury duty. He is seated in the case of the death of Kendall Carter, who was found dead under a bridge after a fight with her boyfriend, James Sythe, who is charged with her murder. Justin realizes he might have killed Kendall himself after hitting something with his car that night. To avoid conviction, he works with other jurors to cast doubt on the prosecution's case, eventually leading to a hung jury and a conviction for Sythe. However, the prosecutor, Faith Killebrew, discovers Justin's identity as the real perpetrator. Despite the truth, Justin chooses to remain silent to protect his family and his wife, Ally. After Sythe is sentenced to life without parole, Justin sells his car to remove any link to the crime. The film ends with Killebrew arriving at his doorstep to confront him about the truth of the case.
