Full plot (contains spoilers)
Steppenwolf and his Parademons seek to seize three Mother Boxes to create 'The Unity,' a force that would terraform Earth. Thousands of years after Superman's death, the boxes are reactivated, drawing Steppenwolf to Earth. Diana joins Bruce Wayne to unite metahumans; Bruce recruits Barry Allen while Diana finds Victor Stone. Steppenwolf's pursuit of the boxes forces Arthur Curry into action. Bruce decides to use a Mother Box to resurrect Superman to bolster their defense. Superman is revived but initially lacks his memories and attacks the group; he is eventually calmed by Lois Lane and travels to Smallville to recover his memories. During this time, Steppenwolf seizes a box. The five heroes travel to a Russian village to confront Steppenwolf. With Superman's timely arrival, they defeat Steppenwolf and separate the boxes. The film ends with the heroes establishing their new roles and a post-credits scene showing Lex Luthor and Slade Wilson forming their own league.
